Description

Noise in the workplace can cause annoyance, be stressful, and interfere with speech communication. Prolonged exposure to noise can result in permanent hearing loss. This course introduces the effects of noise, hearing loss, and strategies for controlling noise. It also explains how to recognize workplace noise hazards and prevent hearing loss, including ways to eliminate or reduce the damaging effects of noise exposure.

• What is noise in our world and workplaces
• The effects of noise
• Hearing conservation programs
• Strategies for controlling noise

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

• Recall the auditory and non-auditory effects of noise
• Recognize the elements of a hearing conservation program
• Identify strategies to control workplace noise, and which are most effective
