Learn about avian influenza A(H5N1), what animals carry the virus, the signs and symptoms in animals and humans, how workplaces can reduce the risk, and what to do if you suspect you have been exposed to the virus.
This course covers occupations at risk of exposure, the diseases that can be contracted from ticks, mosquitoes, and various wildlife species, and control measures that can protect workers from becoming ill. Information on reporting zoonotic diseases is also included in the course.

This course is designed for workers who may be exposed to any bird or mammal infected with avian influenza A(H5N1). This may include poultry and dairy farm workers, laboratory workers testing raw milk, veterinary workers, wildlife officers, slaughterhouse workers, on-farm labourers, and other occupations.
