Measuring Noise
- If you have a sound level meter, measure the dB(A) level of different sound sources like TV volume (normal and loud), shouting, whistle, ringing phone, stereo speakers, etc. This will develop a feeling for dB(A) levels in your mind.
- If you don't have a sound level meter, use the chart of sound levels (see Noise Notes) and ask students in your class to guess dB(A) levels of some everyday sounds.
