Resources Available to Help Workplaces Take Action During Mental Health Week

In the workplace, the traditional view of health and safety has expanded from physical hazards, to a more comprehensive approach that incorporates the total health and well-being, including the mental health, of employees. To help organizations promote mental health, and take action on creating a mentally healthy workplace, the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has a variety of bilingual tools and resources available.

Healthy Minds at Work Portal

The Healthy Minds at Work portal features a collection of online resources aimed at providing workplaces with assistance in developing strategies to promote mental health at work as well as effectively handling existing mental health issues.

Live Webinar – Steps to a Mentally Healthy Workplace 
Thursday, May 11, 2017, 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. EDT

Steps to a Mentally Healthy Workplace will provide participants with an overview of the tools and resources an organization needs to create and implement a comprehensive healthy workplace program. A recorded session of the webinar will be made available after the live event, and can be watched on-demand.

Mental Health in the Canadian Workplace Infographic

This free infographic features information about the state of workplace mental health in Canada, and includes tips for both employers and workers on how to improve psychological health and safety on the job. CCOHS’ infographics can be shared to social networks and via e-mail.

Additional resources about workplace mental health such as free fact sheets, e-courses, posters, and podcasts are available on the CCOHS Website.
